We were excited to work with our competition winner Rebecca Denton to help transform the space in her bedroom to maximise storage and create a beautifully organised wardrobe.
Rebecca worked with our showroom team in Lichfield to design her dream wardrobe. Upon winning the competition she visited the showroom and chatted through her vision and requirements with her showroom advisor, Sophie. After viewing our huge collection of colours and finishes, Rebecca opted for our silver mirror finish, with cashmere frames and interiors.
Rebecca was delighted to hear that our wardrobes are fully bespoke for each customer, the previous homeowners had built some storage around an existing chimney breast making it quite a tricky space to fit a wardrobe, however we were able to build storage to her requirements. Rebecca also wanted to include a small section of double hanging to maximise the space within the wardrobe, she utilised the shelving for shoe and handbag storage.
As our competition winner, how did you feel when you got the message to say you had won?
I was ecstatic. This is the biggest prize I’ve ever won. It’s actually really coincidental too. We had been wanting to design our spare bedroom as it was still a storage room since we had moved in. I said a few weeks prior I would have loved some made to measure wardrobes for the space, but it wasn’t in our budget at the moment. Then a few weeks later I got this surprise!
Due to the chimney breast coming up through the bedroom and the prior owners incorporating some shelving within it, it was a difficult space to incorporate freestanding storage. The advantages of made to measure allowed for the wardrobe to fit nicely into these awkward areas. Aesthetically, I also wanted them to look modern and timeless for ongoing years regardless of the decor we have in the bedroom.
What was your space like before your transformation?
It has been the most unloved room since we moved into our house. We had been wanting to turn it into a usable guest bedroom for my parents to use whenever they wanted. It had old carpet, many layers of paint and wallpaper that we had to take back to brick on some walls, no storage and some delightful glittery unicorn wallpaper!
How did you find the whole order/installation process?
It was fantastic. Right from informing me of the win, Sophie from the Lichfield branch was immediately in contact with me. From meeting her at the showroom to Sophie coming out to measure she was so helpful and friendly. I loved being able to take the samples away and seeing the drawing on the design after measurements. On the day of installation, Andy was lovely. I asked in advance if he was ok with dogs, he replied he was and even brought Peggy some treats to try and be her friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Spaceslide.
