The Perfect Bedroom for a Teenage Girl
Thursday 10th September 2015
A girl’s bedroom is her favourite place. A haven for alone time, a cool place to hang out with friends, and a home for all the items she loves and cherishes. But what is the perfect room for a teenage girl?
The favourite part of every girl’s room is the all-important wardrobe. Floor to ceiling mirrors on sliding wardrobe doors covering the length of the bedroom make the room look and feel larger, providing not only the best perspective when selecting an outfit each day, but also the perfect place to see what she’s doing when practicing dance routines with friends or taking selfies to upload to Instagram.
The perfect wardrobe has a home for everything: drawers for jeans and leggings, tracksuit bottoms and underwear; a mid-length rail section to hang shirts, tops and mini-skirts; a higher rail for coats, dresses and maxi-skirts; and designated shelving and compartments to house an array of shoes and accessories.
Having somewhere to organise and apply make-up is a must. A dressing table complete with storage will help keep hair dryers and straighteners neat and tidy, and ensure even the largest collection of lipsticks, eyeshadows and nail polish is organised and accessible. Add a generous mirror framed with soft lighting and she will have the perfect spot to get ready at the start of each day.
A desk is also important, though she may try to avoid it as much as possible! Somewhere she can complete homework and revise, with clever storage solutions for all those textbooks, folders and all her favourite stationery.
Then, a double bed with a snug duvet and modern, white linen will help guarantee a good night’s beauty sleep after a busy day at school or college. Large, fluffy cushions and throws transform the bed into a cosy place to sit during the day whilst browsing social media on a tablet or reading a book.
Lastly, every girl needs a space dedicated to the memories they’ll cherish forever. A collage of photos of family and friends capture the best times from holidays, school prom, days out and everything in between. Framing the photos with fairy-lights will help to make a real feature of the wall.
