Aside from a comfortable mattress and a spacious wardrobe, colour is one of the most important elements to get right when designing your bedroom. Colour can not only create illusions such as making a room appear bigger than it is, it can also be a tool to set the mood or tone of the room.

The bedroom should be your sanctuary, a space for tranquillity and relaxation. Hence, the colours should evoke a sense of calm, not noise and chaos. And yet, calm doesn’t have to mean bland. Layering neutral tones and cleverly complementing with the right accessories can be an effective method for creating the ideal bedroom setting.

Blush & Sage Green

A new and popular choice for this year is the combination of blush and sage green. This palette of soft shades creates a refreshing and uplifting ambiance to any room in the home, but can be especially effective in the bedroom.

Sage green is considered as the neutral within this palette and can be the base colour of the bedroom. The earthy tone is calming, soothing and pleasing to the eye. When teamed with natural wood and light pastel hues, these colours form the perfect palette.

The base should then be lifted with accents of blush pink to make the space feel warm and inviting. The gentle pastel shade of pink accentuates the calmness of the green, to create a harmony of gentle colours.

Blush is complemented perfectly with delicate textures such as natural woods, pastel shades and contemporary bronze accessories. For example, choosing delicate tones, such as dusky pink, for your bedding can be accentuated with metallic cushions or a bronze bedside table to make the space more distinctive.

Another way to create the look is to use our Natural Oak or Bronze Mirror sliding doors, which work perfectly alongside the gentle blush and sage tones. Our natural colours such as Stone Grey and Cashmere are also subtle enough to pair well with this colour scheme without overpowering the subtle tones.

Wardrobe finishes can complement this palette further. Go for Satin Cashmere Glass or Nordic Teal, both new additions to our range. Or even Bronze Mirror, Natural Oak, Blush, or Light Grey Glass would be a great choice.
